In-store returns

In-store merchandise is refundable within 14 days of purchase, with a sales receipt and in resalable (original) condition*.

Course materials: The deadline for returning summer term course materials is 7 days from the start of your course*. Course materials must be accompanied by a sales receipt and be in original condition.

Computer software: Unopened - may be returned for refund or exchange within 14 days of purchase, with receipt; opened - may be exchanged for the same item within 14 days, with receipt. Please check your computer system or printer requirements before opening merchandise.

*Exceptions: No refunds on rental books; special orders; computer products; opened packages including custom course materials, access codes, headphones, sale items (final sale), medical clothing/instruments/models, lab coats, dissecting kits, safety eyewear/goggles and swimwear.

Online store returns

Online store merchandise is returnable for refund within 30 days of shipping date, accompanied by your order number, packing slip, and contact information and in resalable condition. We will not refund course materials, snacks, sale items and seasonal items.

Exceptions: Special orders, rental books and sale items (final sale).

In your return shipment, please include:

• Item(s) being returned
• Your receipt or a printout of your order record
• Original packaging, if possible
• Reason for return.

You will be notified by e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item (usually within seven to 14 days of receiving).

You can save the shipping costs by returning your item in person to the UBC Bookstore. 

Online exchanges

Please return the original item first and then re-order the correct one.

Damaged, defective, wrong item or missing parts?
Please return the item(s) upon receipt to the above address. Please confirm whether you want a refund or a replacement. We will be glad to refund original shipping charges for items being returned due to our error.
