Course materials (textbook) orders

The deadline for ordering for the summer term has passed. If you do have an urgent requirement, we will do our best to help.  

The deadline for ordering for September is May 1. If you are unable to meet that date, please contact our course materials team who will do their best to help you. You can now use the new online ordering system that no longer requires you to remember login IDs or passwords:

Why order from the UBC Bookstore?:
  • We understand that new books are very expensive and so we research ways of providing potential savings to students. For example, our new rental textbook program enables students to save up to 55% off the new price of a book. If a student normally spends $1000 on new books, they can rent them all for $450 if they are used books. This has proven a very popular option, with over 3, 250 renting in January 2012
  • Purchases support the UBC community, we employ UBC students and pay fair wages
  • As of September, 2012, we will be offering price comparisons with all our major competitors, showing transparent pricing and stock availability, enabling students to make their own informed decisions as to where to purchase their books
  • Our competitors do not all invest in technology (including their websites), nor do they employ teams to focus on course materials - building the correct lists and liaising with publishers.
